The IAUI — Izložu un azartspēļu uzraudzības inspekcija — is Latvia’s Lotteries and Gambling Supervisory Inspection. It licenses every operator legally allowed to accept Latvian players.
What the licence obliges
Paying out verified winnings. Protecting player data. Following advertising rules. Offering self-exclusion. Answering to the IAUI when a player complains. None of this applies to a foreign-licensed site.
How to check
A licensed operator displays its number, usually in the page footer. The IAUI publishes a register where that number can be verified. An operator that gives none, or gives one that does not appear, is the easiest thing to walk away from.
What it does not guarantee
That the bonus is good value, that the games are the ones you like, or that support answers fast. The licence is a floor, not a recommendation.
